Effects of Viruses and the Necessity of Having Virus Protection

The term virus is often associated with illness within people. Most viruses are given prescription medication by a doctor and the virus is often at times removed without too much effort. The same concept unfortunately does not apply in the world of computers. Ideally viruses attack computers in a completely different way than the way a natural virus infects a person. A computer virus has the ability to attack at many levels including the core files that help the computer run. When a virus attacks system files it may make it so a computer loses the ability to turn back on, and the only way to restore the computer is to reinstall all of the software including the operating system. Installing files generally takes a decent amount of time, but installing an operating system is a much longer process. Think of the operating system or Os, as being the software that runs all of the other software. That being said the operating system is single handedly the most important piece of software a computer has, and once a virus begins messing with OS files there is no turning back, the computer needs to be reformatted. Another aspect of OS re-installation is that most people don’t have their OS disk readily available to them. Computers used to ship with their operating systems on disks but now computers are designed with a portioned hard drive that allows the owner to create the disk on their own, normally this is called a recovery disc. Even if a user usually has their recovery disk they often decide to not attempt to fix the dilemma and they seek outside help. Often at time’s people will make the decision to take their computer to a repair shop. This isn’t something that is necessary and will often require you to spend money for things you can do yourself. Online computer forums are a great place to find information and guides on how to successfully reinstall and OS. If you still aren’t able to fix it, I suggest you still avoid a repair shop and see if you have a friend or family member that knows a something about computers that can take care of it for you. If you don’t want to have to constantly reinstall your OS every time you get a virus I’d suggest you get some anti-virus software, and a backup program. The anti-virus program will act as a safe guard and will protect your system from intruders. I don’t suggest you use Norton Anti Virus or McAfee; they both are bloated anti-virus software’s that use a lot of system resources and cost quite a bit of money. A good free alternative is AVG Free. The backup program will serve as a utility to have copies of your important files. Even if you don’t plan on getting a viruses having backups is important for example, what if the hard drive fails? Regardless of your individual needs Virus protection is a necessity you can't afford to be without.

Advantages of Contact Lenses over Glasses
By: Lesley Lyon

The functional advantages of contact lenses over glasses can be felt in areas like sports, working in humid conditions and also in occupations where glasses can be very inconvenient and may not be compatible when using equipment like special headgears. Contact lenses also offer aesthetic advantages as they do not alter the image of the person wearing it.When contact lenses are worn correctly on the cornea of the eye, the vision is very similar to the natural vision. The objects are seen in the right size and position without any kind of distortion of the image. When glasses are worn, the distance between the glasses and the eye vary making the objects appear smaller or larger than the actual size, position etc.Contact lenses are not altered by bodily movements, as in the case of sports or similar kind of activities. They remain stable providing stable and clear vision to the wearer. When glasses are worn, the vision is unstable while moving or running, in turn affecting the performance of the wearer.Contact lenses provide a better and wider peripheral vision than the glasses. Contact lenses move with the movement of the eyes and the wearer always looks through the clearest part of the lens called the optic zone. When glasses are worn, it blocks the peripheral vision. When the eyes move to the sides, the sight is far from the optic center leading to distorted and blurred vision. Contact lenses do not steam up due to body heat or perspiration. They also neither fog when exposed to cold weather nor get splattered in the rain. Glasses on the other hand fog up and the wearer cannot see completely during rain pour.Contact lenses do not leave marks on the nose and are very comfortable to wear. No pressure is felt on the ears, temple, or nose unlike the glasses. Also glasses slide down from the nose during perspiration. As told before, contact lenses do not alter the appearance of the person. They are boon for children who are often picked up at school for wearing glasses. Contact lenses provide both physical and psychological comfort to the wearer. Also, after cataract operations, contact lenses provide the necessary protection more than the glasses. Contact lenses offer adequate correction when the visual acuity of the eyes are more than 2.5 diopters, which is not possible with the glasses.Lesley Lyon regularly contributes informative articles on topics such as health, beauty and cosmetics to web guides

Interior Design - A Few Design Ideas For Decorating a Large Bedroom
(Thu Jan 22nd, 2009, by Alyssa Davis)

Designing a plain oversized bedroom can be a huge challenge to undertake. With its size, such a room can be difficult to decorate and creating a cozy atmosphere can be a little tricky. You have to be able to combine all the element designs seamlessly flowing all throughout the whole room. Every piece of furniture has to fit just right with all the ornaments to be incorporated. But this demanding feat can be accomplished just as long as you plan your time well and come up with a little ingenuity. To help you further along in coming up with creative ideas in designing you bedroom, here are a few suggestions. The most initial thing you have to do is to plan and keep everything simple with a touch of artistic sense here and there. Just because the room is big, it does not mean you have to fill it up with a lot of furniture and ornaments. Start by picking out a nice bed or a small couch.Your bed is the most basic thing in the room. Because the room is so large, it does mean you have to position it against the wall. It is preferable for a bed to face a direction where it will not be seen by someone entering the bedroom. You can add a little privacy to it by placing a large dresser with the back of it to the headboard. Placing folding floor screens at the head of the bed is also a good idea. Find side tables that will look well with your bed. Round tables are perfect side tables if you want to deviate from the traditional nightstands. You can add a little bit of sophistication to your room by hanging up abstract metal wall art. This beautiful decorative piece on your wall will add interest to a space in such a simple way. Change the effect by hanging in a different angle or placing it in the most unusual location. It can be large or small depending on the exact look you want to achieve for your room. You can hang one piece for a simple look or multiple ones for a more inspired result. To make decorating a whole lot easier, it is recommended you divide the room in three zones. In this way, you can focus on one part in different times. These three zones may be the lounging area, dressing area and most importantly the sleeping area. The bed can be your center point and placed in an area you are most comfortable in. For the lounging are, you can place small comfortable couch or chairs where you can sit and read. Place dressers and mirrors for your dressing area. You can group this furniture together and add a chair that you can sit on while dressing. A good suggestion would be placing a beautifully decorated folding screen to block the view from your dressing area as well as create a stylish accent.A large room calls for large furniture. A king size bed with double pillow top mattress will fit perfectly with this type of room. Place a sophisticated bench or a large chest at the foot of the bed. If you have a more modern look in mind, placing a cabinet with television at the foot of the bed is an alternative option.A large room often offers an odd shape. Take advantage of this and create corners with distinctive ideas. Its either you hang up an abstract metal wall art or place a beautiful folding screen, it's really up to you. Experiment with different furniture and let your imagination guide you.
